Hoyme places first on horse

Katie Hoyme, Paynesville, riding Skip-n-Squire, her four-year-old quarterhorse, placed first in English Pleasure and second in English Equitation at the Meeker County Fair Open Show on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Her ratings in the event will qualify her to compete at the annual Champ Show held on Sept. 24-26, at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds.

Hoyme is the daughter of the Rev. Rick and Diane Hoyme, Paynesville.
