"When you lose a meet by a margin of 0.25, it's easy to look back on the little things that could have won the meet for us," said coach Deb Nehowig
"One more pointed toe and straight leg or one more landing without taking an extra step would have won the meet for us. Or one less stop with an extra swing on bars would have easily made the margin up," she said.
On the uneven bars Joy Hemmesch - who changed her routine due to her ankle injury - placed third with a 6.9. Rachel Koehn came in right behind her in fourth place with a 6.85. And in fifth place was Michelle Wolbeck with a 5.9.
Next for Paynesville was the vault. Kelli Fenske placed third with an 8.5, and Wolbeck scored an 8.35 for fourth.
On the floor exercise, Amy Mueller had a nice routine which put her in third place with a 7.4. Wolbeck earned fourth place with a 7.2.
The last event for Paynesville was the balance beam. Wolbeck earned second place with a 7.4. Koehn placed third with a 7.35, and Mueller placed fifth with a 6.65.
In the all-around competition Wolbeck and Koehn tied for third, each scoring 28.85.
