The Bulldog dance team, the Paynesville Pirouettes, performed for the first time last night at halftime of the boys basketball game. The 12-member team will have a dual competition at St. Cloud Cathedral tomorrow night, again at halftime of the boys basketball game. On Saturday, they will attend a competitive invitational hosted by Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.
Look for senior Tricia Hemmesch, DecemberŐs Dancer of the Month. She was chosen by team members for her ability, attitude and contributions to the dance team. This is her second year on the line.
At this time, the Pirouettes plan to attend three invitationals and dance at many home basketball games this year. In a change from previous years, they will also need to place first or second in a sectional meet in order to qualify to compete in the state meet, which will be held in February.
