Seniors Clayton Lang and Adam Utsch, who led the Bulldogs to the Class A team title, earned All Area recognition along with Jen Hess, who won the Class A individual title for the girls as a junior.
Lang finished sixth in state individually to earn All State honors. He was the top runner for the Bulldogs all season, as the team won their first state title.
Utsch also earned All State honors by finishing 19th individually at the state meet, which was held at St. Olaf College in Northfield on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Hess improved on her third-place finish of a year ago by winning her first state title. It was the third time Hess has earned All State honors and the second time that she had earned All Area honors by the Times.
Earning honorable mention from the Times were Paynesville's two other All State runners: junior Dan Pearson and seventh grader Brooke Schmitz.
Pearson finished 22nd at state, and was the third runner into the chute for the Bulldogs.
Schmitz captured the last All State placing in the Class A girls' race by coming in 25th in her first varsity season.
Hess and Lang also competed in a regional cross-country meet over the weekend in Wisconsin. The Foot Locker Midwest Regional in Kenosha, Wis., on Saturday featured hundreds of runners from 15 states.
Hess finished 22nd out of more than 400 runners in the girls' race.
Lang finished 154th out of over 350 runners in the boys' race.
The top eight in each race qualified for the national finals in Orlando, Fla., in December.
