Max Meagher named All Conference |
Max Meagher, a junior linebacker at Northwestern College in St. Paul, has been named All Conference in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Meagher led the Eagles with 93 tackles including 7.5 tackles for a loss. He also had four interceptions, two blocked kicks, and one forced fumble. He was named to the first team All Conference in the UMAC in his first season as a starter (and second on the team). Meagher, the son of Debbie and Mike Meagher of Paynesville, is a 2002 PAHS graduate. He is now a 6', 205-pound linebacker. The Eagles finished 8-3 this fall, losing their first two games, then winning eight straight, and losing to Olivet Nazarene on Saturday for the second straight year in the National Christian College Athletic Association Victory Bowl. Meagher led North-western with 12 tackles against Olivet Nazarene on Saturday and returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown in the Eagles' 29-13 loss. For the second straight year, Meagher has earned Academic All Conference honors in the UMAC. To earn this award, Meagher posted a GPA of 3.5 or better in the past academic semester. Meagher is majoring in youth ministry at Northwestern College in St. Paul.
