Meagher named Player of the Week

Max Meagher, a sophomore linebacker for Northwestern College, was recognized as National Christian College Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Week by Don Hansen's Football Gazette on Monday, Nov. 8. Meagher had seven tackles, a pass break-up, and an interception returned for 28 yards in a 14-10 loss to Lindenwood on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Meagher, a 2002 PAHS graduate and the son of Debbie and Mike Meagher of Paynesville, has helped the Eagles to a 6-4 record this year, including a 6-1 record in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Meagher earned Academic All Conference honors in the UMAC this season by posting a GPA above 3.5.

Northwestern will host Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday at 12 noon at Reynolds Field in St. Paul for the 2004 NCCAA Victory Bowl. It's the third time in five years that Northwestern will play in the Victory Bowl.
