Since it was the last time the seniors played a game in their home gym, coach Shelia Mayer gave each of the seniors flowers and started them all together in the first game. The girls played good volleyball, winning the first game with a score of 15-6.
The Bulldogs went on to the second and third games and won both, making it the second time this season that the Bulldogs defeated a team in three games.
Emotions were strong for the seniors. Ccombined with a strong desire to win, the team really pulled together for the victory. Good communication, along with excellent defense, setting, hitting, and blocking, were the key elements to the game. The girls played their best volleyball of the season last Monday night.
The Bulldogs were seeded fifth for playoffs and will once again play number four Kimball to see who will advance to the next playoff game.
Game time is 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29. If they win, the girls could quite possibly face number one seeded New London-Spicer.
