Special Olympics bowl at Albany

The Area 7 Special Olympics bowling competition was held on Friday, Oct. 13, at the Albany Bowling Center in Albany.

Five athletes from Paynesville competed in the event. Athletes from the middle school/high school were Anna Liedman, Melissa Everson, Hannah Rooney, and Katerina Kalkbrenner. Joey Everson competed from the elementary school. They all competed in singles bowling.

Melissa Everson and Hannah Rooney each earned a second-place ribbon. First-place ribbons went to Anna Liedman, Katerina Kalkbrenner, and Joey Everson. Athletes are divisioned by age, gender, and skill level.

Anna, Melissa, Hannah, and Katerina will be going on to the state Special Olympics bowling competition in St. Paul over the weekend of Nov. 10-12.
