Cathedral sweeps Dogs

By Mindy Meagher

Amy Roberg The Bulldogs volleyball team hosted St. Cloud Cathedral on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the only game the Dogs played last week.

Junior Amy Roberg served 10/11 and assisted 32/32 last week.

The Crusaders came in with an unbeaten record in the conference and left with yet another win, sweeping the Dogs in three sets.

The Bulldogs didn't play to the best of their abilities and let Cathedral take over the match. The Bulldogs made a lot of simple mistakes and weren't able to play their game.

Serve receive really killed the Dogs, as they let Cathedral have scoring runs several times. Even though the Bulldogs hit the ball very well and placed their kills well, it wasn't close to enough to compete with the Crusaders.

The Bulldogs now have a 3-6 record in the conference and 7-11 overall.

The Bulldogs hosted Melrose on Tuesday night, hoping to get another conference victory. The subsection playoffs begin next week, on Thursday, Oct. 24. The Dogs' opponent and the site for their first playoff game had not been determined at press time.
