Jen Hess took second place in the meet. The flat course provided for quick times, and with a 14:51, Hess was no exception. Hess trailed Katie Lorentz of Wadena-Deer Creek by 11 seconds. Lorentz was rated fifth in Class A while Hess was rated second.
Finishing in 16:00, in 12th place, was Kim Hess. Both Hesses received medals for their runs.
The third girl to cross the finish line for the Dawgs was Danielle Lieser. Placing 22nd, in 16:49, Lieser had this to say about the meet, "I like the course at Sauk Centre. It's flat with long straightaways, so it was easier to lengthen my stride."
Next, the senior captains came in as a pack. Carin Frenchick led, in 35th, followed by Erin Aagesen in 36th, and Tiff Rausch in 40th. All three completed the race in a span of 14 seconds, ranging from Frenchick's 17:17 to Rausch's 17:31. Close behind was Mesa Frenchick (pictured above), placing 46th, in 17:46.
The team will compete tomorrow at the West Central Conference meet again in Sauk Centre at 4:30 p.m.
