The game started out like it was going to be a great night for the Dogs, as senior halfback Jeff Voss took the fourth play from scrimmage 63 yards for a touchdown run. That put the Bulldogs ahead 6-0 in the first quarter.
The Dragons came back and scored a touchdown with a couple minutes left in the quarter and with the two-point conversion led 8-6 at the end of the quarter.
The Dragons started the second quarter by recovering a Paynesville fumble and driving 35 yards to score, making it 14-6 for Litchfield.
The Bulldogs' offense then went on a 68-yard drive that ended when Ben Bork broke loose on a 16-yard run. He appeared to have a chance to score, only to have a Dragon defender knock the ball loose on the Litchfield 14-yard line, where the Dragons recovered.
The Dragons drove the length of the field and scored with only 26 seconds left before halftime. The score stood at Litchfield, 22; Paynesville, 6.
The third quarter started with Paynesville fumbling away a punt snap and Litchfield recovering and scoring one play later from the Paynesville 16-yard line.
The Buldogs' defense held Litchfield to 32 total yards for the entire third quarter but gave up 14 points because of three Bulldog turnovers.
The fourth quarter was evenly played with neither team managing to score any points. The final score was 36-6 in favor of Litchfield.
