The Bulldogs' offense could only manage 214 yards total offense for the game while the defense gave up 211 yards. Penalties again were a big problem for the Bulldogs, as they had nine penalties for 85 yards. A couple of these penalties were very costly as they happened when the Bulldogs were first and goal on the Eagles' five-yard line.
The only score for Paynesville came on a two-yard run by Jeff Voss, his seventh touchdown of the season.
The Bulldogs were inside the Eagles' 30-yard line another three times and came away with no points.
"If this team wants to have any success the rest of this season, they are going to have to learn to play every down of every game as hard as they can and not take a night off, like they did at LQPV," stated coach Kyle Nehowig.
Nehowig added, "These players have to realize that it takes an effort like they gave against Albany every week to become a successful team. You can't just get up for every other game, but you must be able to give 100 percent mentally on every down of every game. The players now have to decide where they want to go from here. Every team in the conference has at least one loss, as do the Bulldogs, which still puts us in a good position for the rest of the season."
The Bulldogs travel to Litchfield on Friday, Oct. 1, to take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m.
