Punt, pass, and kick competition held last week

Thirty-five youth participated in the annual Punt, Pass, and Kick competition on Thursday at the high school football field.

Winners were Jason Kampsen (out of nine 8- and 9-year-old boys) with a combined distance of 155' 5"; Melaina Mrozek (8- and 9-year-old girls) with a distance of 64' 11"; Aaron Savelkoul (out of 14 10- and 11-year-old boys) with a distance of 204' 10"; Bri Jaeger (out of three 10- and 11-year-old girls) with a distance of 73' 4"; Shane Kampsen (out of seven 12- and 13-year-old boys) with a distance of 227' 6"; and Jayna Flanders (12- and 13-year-old girls) with a distance of 96' 3".

No 14- or 15-year-old boys or girls competed in the event.

Winners advance to the sectional competition in Willmar on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. at the football field at Kennedy Elementary School.

The local competition was organized by the Paynesville Community Club and the high school football team.

12- and 13-year-old boys
