Bulldogs take fifth in meet at Rockford |
The Bulldogs boys' cross country team placed fifth in a 15-team meet at Rockford on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The Dogs placed two runners in the top 20, and five in the top 45 in their fifth-place finish. Ninth grader Jonathan Kerzman placed 16th individually to lead the Dogs, followed by junior Dugan Flanders 12 seconds back in 20th. Ninth grader Jamison Wall was next for Paynesville in 33rd. Junior Dugan Flanders led the boys' cross country team at the BBE Invite on Thursday, finishing 13th overall as the Dogs finished eighth as a team. Junior Peder Thompson (43rd) and ninth grader Josh Sturtz (44th) finished one second apart and completed the Dogs' team score. Watertown-Mayer (48) won the Rocket Run with a 2-3-4 finish from their top three runners. Annandale (92) edged Pierz (97) for third, with Belle Plaine (136) beating Paynesville (154) for fourth. This week, the Dogs will run in a meet at Little Crow Golf Club, between New London and Spicer, on Thursday. Next week, they will run at Pierz on Monday, Sept. 19.

Junior Dugan Flanders was 13th overall to lead the Dogs. Ninth grader Jonathan Kerzman placed 22nd for the Dogs, and ninth grader Jamison Wall was 33rd. Senior Peder Thompson (54th) and ninth grader Nathan Friederichs (64th) completed the Dogs' team score.
