Boys run sixth at BBE |
The PAHS boys' cross country team placed sixth in a 17-team meet at Brooten, hosted by BBE, on Thursday in their second meet of the fall. The Bulldogs were led by a pair of top-10 finishers: senior Dugan Flanders in ninth and eighth grader Tanner Wendroth in tenth. Montevideo (85) won the meet by beating Albany (90) by five and Sauk Centre (94) by nine. Both Albany and Sauk Centre are West Central Conference North rivals of the Dogs. Senior Dugan Flanders finished ninth at the BBE Invite held in Brooten on Thursday, leading the Dogs to a sixth-place finish in the 17-team meet. Sophomore Josh Sturtz (30th), sophomore Ezra Thompson (36th), and senior Peder Thompson (48th) completed the Dogs' team score. "The boys are really progessing so far this year," said coach Darrel Carstens. "Our kids ran very well." This week, the Dogs will run at Little Crow Golf Course (between New London and Spicer) on Thursday, starting at 4:15 p.m. Next week, the Dogs will run at Pierz (which will host the section meet later this fall) on Monday, Sept. 18, also starting at 4:15 p.m.
