KHGC holds two-person tournament |
Thirty-nine two-person teams competed in the two-person tournament at Koronis Hills Golf Course on Sunday, Sept. 8. In an 18-hole round, the teams played the holes #1-#6 as a best ball (each golfer playing his own ball and the team taking the lowest score); holes #7-#12 as alternate shot (with each player teeing off and alternating shots after that); and holes #13-#18 as a scramble (with each golfer hitting a shot, then choosing the best shot, and playing two shots from the next spot). In the championship flight, there was a three-way tie for first at 73 between Scott Schroeder (38-35); Jim Hauk and Arnold Johnson (37-36); and Ryan Wall and Jeff Meyer (38-35). Other flight winners were Dave Currens and Rand Roeske (39-37=76) in the first flight; Mark Schmiege and Mark Johnson (39-34=73) in the second flight; and Al Habben and Bill Spooner (46-39=85) in the third flight. There were also three skins, all birdies on par-three holes: Dave Fuecker and Bill Krake of Chanhassen with a birdie on #4 in best ball; Currens and Roeske with a birdie on #10 in alternate shot; and Lee and Denise Landsteiner with a birdie on #17 in scramble.
