Hansen honored for track career at UMD

Jeff Hansen, a 1996 graduate of Paynesville Area High School, was recently acknowledged and awarded for his performance in track and field at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Hansen finished his track career holding six UMD records, and two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) records. He achieved all-conference honors eight times.

Hansen was a key performer in relay events, but also holds personal records of 48.1 seconds in the 400-meter dash and 20.9 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Hansen's career was highlighted by an appearance at the NCAA championships with a 4 by 100 meter relay team.

Hansen is currently a senior at UMD, completing a double major in computer science and finance.
