Meagher given pre-season honor |
Max Meagher, a senior linebacker at Northwestern College, has been named a pre-season All American in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) by Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette. Last year, Meagher received first-team all-conference honors, first-team NCCAA All American honors, and NCCAA Academic All American honors. He notched 93 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for a loss, and added four interceptions as the Eagles went 8-3. The Eagles won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title last fall by going 7-0. This year, the Eagles are ranked fifth in the NCCAA pre-season ratings. They had three pre-season All Americans and six honorable mentions. Meagher, a 2002 PAHS grad, is majoring in youth ministry at Northwestern College in St. Paul. Contact the author at editor@paynesvillepress.com Return to Sports
