Tyler Kochman started on the mound in the first game for Paynesville. Kochman went four innings earning the win.
Chris Beier came in to get the save and close out the game for Paynesville.
Ben Lingl led the way for the Paynesville team at the plate. Lingl was 2-2 with two runs scored.
Chad Stang, Kochman, Adam Hemmesch, Justin Butkofski, Beier, and Trevor Schwandt all had hits in the game.
Paynesville scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early lead.
They then added five more in the bottom of the third. Stang drove in a couple of runs when he doubled, and that was followed by a Kochman single.
Paynesville then added one more in the bottom of the fourth to make the final score 8-1.

Payesville defeated Willmar in a close game 5-4, in the second game of the double header on Thursday evening.
Ross Jaeger started and went two innings before giving way to Trevor Stanger. Stanger went four innings to earn the victory.
Stanger and Chad Stang were both 2-2 in the game to lead Paynesville. John Scheierl was 1-2 driving in the winning RBI in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Paynesville took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Stanger singled to start off the game. Stang followed him with a double and Kochman doubled also to drive in Paynesville's first two runs.
Paynesville then added one in the second and one in the fourth to make the score 4-1.
Willmar had a comeback in the fifth as they scored three to tie the game.
Paynesville though was able to escape with the victory in the sixth on Scheierl's RBI single.
