Nate Schutz got the start on the mound for Paynesville and pitched well. Schutz surrendered seven hits in the game to Melrose.
Schutz did not get much support though from his team at the plate. Paynesville was not able to get a run against Melrose in the game.
Eric Hartfiel led Paynesville in hitting as he went 2-3. Shaun Fleischhacker and Nick Fuchs were each 1-3 in the game.
Melrose kept Paynesville quiet and off the board for the entire game.
Paynesville had also kept Melrose off the board until the fourth inning when Melrose was able to get three runs in the inning, and added two more in the fifth.
Melrose added one more run in the seventh for good measure, but it was not necessary as Paynesville fell by a count of 6-0.

Paynesville defeated Atwater 10-6 on Wednesday evening, in Paynesville.
Adam Larson started for Paynesville and went three innings. Doug Fuchs went the final four innings to earn the victory.
Shaun Fleischhacker led Paynesville at the plate as he was 2-3 in the game. Dustin Looman once again provided an offensive spark with a home run in the game.
Paynesville jumped out and took an early 3-0 lead when they scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
However, Atwater countered by doing the same thing in the top of the second to tie the game at three.
Atwater then took a brief lead when they added two more in the top of the third to make the score 5-3, Atwater.
Paynesville came back with four runs in the bottom of the inning to make the score 7-5, Paynesville.
Paynesville had regained the lead permanently and then added two more to take a 9-5 lead.
Fuchs had come in and shut the door on Atwater and allowed only one run during his four innings of work.
Paynesville also added one more run to take the lead at 10-6, and held on for the victory.

Albany defeated Paynesville 6-2, on Monday night, July 5, in Paynesville.
Nate Schutz started for Paynesville and pitched the whole game, but was tagged with the loss.
Schutz and Scott Braun led Paynesville at the plate as they were each 2-3 in the game.
Schutz had a rough start in the game as he gave up five runs in the first inning. After that he settled down to only allow one more run the rest of the way.
Paynesville got their first run already down 6-0 in bottom of the third inning.
The only other run Paynesville was able to get in the game came in the sixth, but it was not enough.
Schutz had a tough week on the mound as he was tagged with two losses in games against tough opponents where he had pitched fairly well.

Roscoe 0
Roscoe was shut out by Meire Grove on Thursday night, in Meire Grove by a score of 3-0.
Eric Kunstleben started and got the loss for the Rangers. Justin Mackedanz came in to close the game for Roscoe.
Roscoe was held to just three hits in the game. Mackedanz, Todd Leyen-decker, and Keith Winter had the only Roscoe hits.
Roscoe had its only threat in the second inning when Kunstleben led off with a walk. Winter then doubled to put runners on second and third with nobody out, but Roscoe failed to score and wound up losing 3-0.
Roscoe now 3-5 played Tuesday night against Farming in Roscoe, and will travel to New Munich on Tuesday, July 20.
