Hess named All State in softball |
Senior shortstop Kim Hess - who hit .621 this spring for the Bulldogs softball team (36 for 58) - was named to the Class A All State Softball Team by the Minnesota Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association. Hess broke the school record for batting average in a season this year and also broke her own school record by stealing 27 bases. She also led the team this spring with two homeruns, two triples, and 15 bases on balls. Hess was named All Conference for the fourth year in a row and was named the Most Valuable Player in the West Central Conference North this spring. Hess also was named to the all-area teams by the St. Cloud Times and the West Central Tribune. Hess finished her five-year varsity career this spring with 128 hits, 124 runs, and 109 stolen bases. She is believed to be the first PAHS softball player to earn All State recognition. Next year, Hess plans to play softball at Luther College.
