Roscoe 6 Tony Orbeck hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning for Roscoe, and the Rangers held on to get a 6-5 road win against Farming on Sunday. Leading 2-1 in the fourth, the Rangers scored four times, three on Orbeck's blast. Chris VanderBeek also had an RBI single in the inning. Lee Schleper singled and scored to lead off the inning, and Dale Mackedanz drew a walk and scored. Tony Orbeck, accepting congratulations from teammates after a homer, had three hits including a three-run home run as Roscoe beat Farming. The Rangers took a 2-0 lead in the third when Chris VanderBeek scored on a balk, and Orbeck scored on Greg Heinen's single. Farming scored three times in the fifth and once in the ninth, but the Rangers held on to win. In the first match up between these two teams earlier in the season, Farming rallied in the ninth to beat the Rangers. Brent Heinen came within three outs of a complete game for the Rangers. He picked up the victory with eight innings of work, allowing only one earned run. He struck out 12 Farming batters. His brother, Greg, earned a save by getting three outs in the bottom of the ninth. The Rangers improved to 4-8 in league and 6-11 overall with the win.

Richmond 7 The Lakers took a 1-0 lead, but the Royals never trailed again after scoring four times in the third. Both teams scored three times over the last three innings to make the final 7-4. The Lakers, who only had six hits, committed four errors and allowed four unearned runs. Richmond had three errors and allowed two unearned runs. The loss was only the Lakers' third in 12 league games so far this season. The Lakers are now 9-3 in league and 10-5 overall.

Paynesville 14 The Pirates led 4-3 when they scored six runs in the top of the sixth. The Lakers responded with five runs in the bottom of the seventh to close within 10-8, but the Pirates scored four more times in the ninth to win 14-8. Dan Starked pitched seven innings in relief to earn the pitching victory and had four hits to lead the Pirates. New addition Dustin Looman had two hits in two at bats, including a three-run homer to help Paynesville. Chris Thompson hit a two-run homer for NL-S. The Pirates are now 5-5 in league, good for third behind Melrose and Sauk Centre.
