Aaron Nietfeld pitched four innings for Paynesville, allowing only one earned runs, and Chad Stang had three hits for Paynesville, including a bases-clearing triple in the seventh inning.

Paynesville scored five runs in the seventh inning, but could not tie the score.

Paynesville will play next at St. Joseph on Thursday.

Roscoe starts season winless
Roscoe's American Legion team started off their season with three losses. They lost their first game of the season to Farming on Tuesday, June 11.

Russ Leyendecker pitched the first five innings for Roscoe and fanned eight batters in five innings. Jeremy Leyendecker finished up pitching, allowing three hits while striking out six in two innings.

Russ Leyendecker hit an RBI triple for Roscoe in the third inning, and Andy Higgins had an RBI single in the fourth.

Farming scored seven runs in the last five innings to win.

Roscoe lost 17-11 to Meire Grove on Tuesday, June 18. This crazy game saw 28 runs, 24 hits, and 12 errors. Roscoe scored six runs in the sixth inning, finished by a bases-clearing double by Russ Leyendecker.

Roscoe lost to New Munich 13-5 on Thursday, June 20. Roscoe had one hit, but managed to score five runs with batters reaching on errors and Jake Kierstead driving in two runs with a single. The game was called in the sixth inning because of darkness.

Roscoe played Tuesday at Richmond. They will play at Spring Hill, on Thursday, June 27, and at home against Greenwald on Tuesday, July 2.
