The North team lost three games. On Friday night, the Metro West beat the North 11-3. On Saturday, the North lost to Metro East 3-2 and to the South 10-0. The South team finished undefeated in the round-robin tournament.

The North team saw some really good pitchers, said Skoglund, and got only 11 hits in three games. Kampsen, he said, had one hit and played well at third base and at catcher. Kampsen volunteered to catch due to a shortage on the North squad.

Kampsen, who tied the school record this season with ten homeruns, was named to the All Area Baseball Team by the St. Cloud Times. He hit .412 this year with 27 RBIs for the Bulldogs, who finished 13-7. His brother, Adam, a junior, was named honorable mention by the Times after hitting .377 and having a 1.62 ERA.
