Against New London-Spicer, the Pirates scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 7-5 lead and held on to win 8-7.
Pat Mohs had two hits, including a two-run homer, for the Pirates. Darrin Michaelis and Aaron Bayer added two hits for Paynesville.
Alex Kohl, Mike Thompson, Earl Rich, and Jeff Herman had two hits each for NL-S.
Chris Stanley started for the Pirates and threw three innings. Dan Starken earned the victory with six innings in relief. Earl Rich started for NL-S, and he was relieved by Darrin Ogdahl.

At Norway Lake-Sunburg, the Pirates had 15 hits and five home runs to win their third league game. Starken hit two home runs for the Pirates, a two-run drive in the first and a solo shot in the ninth. Josh Williams also hit a two-run homer, and Jason Schlecht and Mohs added solo shots.
Michaelis and Starken each had three hits. Mohs, Schlecht, and Chris Soine had two apiece.
Schlecht started on the hill for Paynesville, and Starken earned the victory with five innings of relief work.
The Pirates are now 3-4 in league and 6-5 overall.

The Wuertz brothers combined for three home runs and six RBI for Lake Henry, but Spring Hill won the Stearns County League game 13-8.
Ryan Wuertz hit two-run homers in the first and fifth innings, and Tyler Wuertz added a two-run blast of his own in the ninth to account for most of Lake HenryÕs scoring.
Spring Hill scored five runs in the fifth and five more in the eighth to win the game. The Lakers hurt themselves with seven errors.
The loss evened the Lakers league record at 4-4.

New Munich took an 11-2 lead after four innings and beat Roscoe 12-6 Sunday. RoscoeÕs pitchers allowed 15 hits, and the Rangers also committed four errors.
RoscoeÕs main inning was the sixth, when they plated three runs. Jeff Welle and Mark Winter walked, and two-out singles by Greg Heinen, Lee Schleper and Tony Orbeck produced three runs.
The Rangers are now 2-6 in league.

Regal splits four games
The Regal Eagles lost 13-3 to Clear Lake in the consolation championship of a tournament in St. Cloud over the weekend. The Eagles split four games in the tournament.
The Eagles lost their first game to St. Cloud Orthopedic 8-4, but beat Luxemburg 8-7 on Saturday. Brad Lieser had two hits and two RBIs against St. Cloud, while Dave Zaeska walked four times.
Against Luxemburg, Regal broke a 3-3 tie with five runs in the top of the sixth. Tim Haines hit a grand slam home run to highlight that inning. Brad Deyak had three hits, and Randy Beier and Haines each had two in that game.
Mike Beier earned the pitching victory. On Sunday, the Eagles beat Brainerd to advance to the consolation champion-ship. Mike Beier had a two-run homer for Regal. Haines and Beier each had two hits. Wade Von Eschen earned the pitching victory.
Clear Lake won by the ten-run rule to claim the consolation championship on Sunday.

The Roscoe American Legion team opened its season with losses to Lake Henry 17-6 on Tuesday, June 6, and to Richmond 20-1 on Thursday.
The Lakers jumped to a 15-0 lead after three innings, and 17-0 after five. Adam Kampsen hit a three-run homer for Lake Henry, and Doug Fuchs added a solo shot.
R. J. Leyendecker and Keith Winter pitched for Roscoe, and Jon Lieser and Kampsen pitched for Lake Henry.
Against Richmond, the Rangers allowed 11 runs in the third and seven in the fourth. The Rangers had only three hits, by Russ Leyendecker, Curt Christian and Keith Winter.

Lake Henry beat Roscoe 30-4 in a Little League game on Wednesday, June 7. Lake Henry scored 11 runs in the first inning and at least three in every inning after that. They had 21 hits and were aided by 10 Roscoe errors.
Adam Kampsen, Cory Nietfeld, and Adam Fuchs pitched for Lake Henry. Casey Kussatz, Randy Leyendecker, Justin Schlangen, and Chuck Mackedanz pitched for Roscoe.
The Rangers also lost to New Munich 11-5 on Sunday. New Munich broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the fourth inning and added five runs in the fifth to seal the victory.
The Rangers only had two hits, by Neil Symanietz and Jeremy Leyendecker. Leyendecker and Ben Moser pitched for Roscoe.
