Wall, a junior, shot 77 to place in the top ten individually, excluding the scorers from the top two teams. Wall shot 37 on the front nine, and started the back nine with four consecutive birdies on holes #10, #11, #12, and #13. He struggled on the final five holes, but finished the back with a 40 for a total of 77.
The section meet was held yesterday at Rich Springs Golf Club between Cold Spring and Richmond. Should Wall advance again, the state meet will be held next Monday and Tuesday, June 7 and 8, at the St. Cloud Country Club.
The medalist for the sub-section meet was Craig Houtari of Dassel-Cokato, helping the Chargers take the team title by eight strokes.
The Bulldogs finished eighth out of 13 teams. They actually tied with Buffalo Lake-Hector at 351, but at the fifth spot BLH's score was 93 and the Bulldogs had 94.
Competing for Paynesville were: Wall, 77; Eric Harfiel, 90; Joey Koshiol, 92; Nathan Glenz, 92; Ryan Mackedanz, 94; and James Gulbranson, 98.
