Senior Heather Fuchs placed second individually to advance to sections, but the girls' golf team finished third and just missed qualifying for sections as a team. St. Cloud Cathedral edged the Dogs for second by four strokes, 385-389. Albany, the WCC North champions, won the subsection title at Becker on Tuesday, May 25, with a four-golfer total of 357. Fuchs, who qualfied for sections individually two years ago, finishing tenth at sections, shot 42 and 43 for her 85. She finished eight strokes behind Lindsey Wellenstein of Albany, who shot 77. "Heather golfed a nice round," said coach Todd Knudsvig.< Senior Amanda Glenz just missed finishing in the top 15 individually and qualifying for sections. Glenz shot 100 and tied for 15th but lost in a playoff for the final section spot. Senior Jena Spaulding and sophomore Amber Jensen both shot 102s to complete the Dogs' team score.
