Sauk Centre scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Bulldogs softball team 6-5 in their regular-season finale. The Dogs led 5-2 entering the sixth inning, but Sauk Centre scored two runs on a hit batter, a triple, and a single to get within one run at 5-4. Then the Streeters scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win. The Dogs were within an out of winning the game, retiring the first two Sauk Centre batters to start the seventh inning. But the Dogs made two errors with two outs to allow Sauk Centre to score the tying and winning run. Sauk Centre had taken a 2-0 lead when a two-out error allowed them to score two runs in the bottom of the first. The Dogs rallied to take the lead with three runs in the third inning. Senior Kayla Mackedanz hit a two-run triple for the Dogs to give them a 3-2 lead. In the fourth inning, the Dogs scored two more runs to expand their lead to 5-2. Both teams scored more runs than they had hits.
