Golfers struggle at two meets |
The Bulldogs girls' golf team struggled at their two meets last week, finishing last in two nonconference meets (at Sauk Centre on Tuesday, May 9, and at Litchfield on Thursday, May 11). The Dogs finished six strokes behind Melrose on Tuesday at Sauk but were far back at Litchfield. Senior Amber Jensen led the Dogs at both meets. She shot 47 on Tuesday at Sauk, finishing in a four-way tie for sixth at the meet. She shot 51 to lead the Dogs on Thursday at Litchfield, just missing finishing in the top ten, tying for 11th. At Sauk, the Dogs team score was comprised by Jensen, junior Marissa Mackedanz (52), junior Cassandra Olmscheid (63), and by sophomores Natasha Fangmeier and Meghan Doll, who both shot 65. At Litchfield, the Dogs only had four competitors: Jensen, Doll (62), Fangmeier (63), and Olmscheid (67). This week, the Dogs had their final three conference meets: nine holes at Melrose on Monday and 18 holes at NL-S on Tuesday (counting as two conference meets). Next week, the Dogs will compete in subsections at Becker on Monday, May 22, at 12 noon.
