Girls' team hosts WCC North golf meet |
Sophomore Marissa Mackedanz shot a round of 41 on the front nine at Koronis Hills on Friday, finishing tied for third in the Dogs' home WCC North meet. Albany senior Lindsey Wellenstein shot a two-over-par round of 38 in beautiful conditions on the front nine at Koronis Hills to earn medalist honors, edging Briana Bruce of St. Cloud Cathedral, who shot 39. Mackedanz tied with Kim Zylla of LPGE at 41. Albany won the meet with a team score of 179, edging Cathedral by four strokes. The Dogs were sixth. Junior Amber Jensen shot 51 for the Dogs, sophomore Cassandra Olmscheid shot 62, and ninth grader Natasha Fangmeier shot 70. This week, the Dogs played in a nonconference meet at Melrose on Tuesday. They will play in a nonconference meet at Litchfield on Thursday, and they will play in a conference meet at Melrose on Monday, May 16.

LPGE Meet
Junior Amber Jensen and sophomore Marissa Mackedanz led the Dogs with rounds of 49. They tied for 11th place individually as 15 players recorded rounds in the 40s at this meet. Sophomore Cassandra Olmscheid (60) and ninth grader Katrina Daby (68) completed the Dogs' team score.
