Weather delays outdoor events |
Inclement weather has delayed the start of the outdoor season for the baseball, softball, and track teams at Paynesville Area High School. All three were scheduled to have their first outdoor competition on Thursday, April 3, and to host a meet or game on Monday, but these events were either cancelled or rescheduled. Both softball games last week - on Thursday against Holdingford and on Friday against Rockford - were cancelled, and the Dogs' conference opener against Albany has been moved to Friday. Paynesville is still trying to reschedule the baseball game against Kimball last week and against Annandale from Monday. And the track meet at ACGC has been rescheduled, but Paynesville may not be able to attend. The Dogs' home meet - scheduled for Monday - has moved to Monday, April 14. Since spring athletic schedules change frequently, the school offers a hotline - 320-243-4058 - to get up-to-date information.
Schedules for this week are: *The softball team plays at Cathedral on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., hosts Albany on Friday at 4 p.m., plays in a tournament at Mapleton on Saturday starting at 10 a.m., hosts NL-S on Monday, April 14, at 4:30 p.m., and hosts Melrose on Tuesday, April 15, at 4:30 p.m. *The boys' and girls' track teams compete at a meet at Annandale on Thursday, April 10, starting at 4 p.m. and host a meet at PAHS on Monday, April 14, starting at 4:15 p.m.
