Lieser, Jansen awarded conference honors

By Sara Lieser

The Bulldogs girls' basketball team ended their season with a banquet.

Assistant coach Beth Voss started by giving each individual on the varsity an award that dealt with her personality or with an incident that took place during the season.

Head coach Ric Koehn started with a few conference statistics. The team was first in the conference in rebounds, averaging 35.3 per game. Senior Heidi Jansen was second in the conference in rebounds with nine per game, and sophomore Amanda Glenz was seventh with 8.1.

Jansen was sixth in the conference in free throw percentage.

Senior Stacy Lieser was sixth in scoring with 13 points per game, and Glenz was tenth with 12.1.

Lieser led the conference in assists with five per game, and junior Mindy Meagher was eighth with 2.8.

Lieser was also ninth in steals with 2.3 per game. Glenz was fourth with 1.5 blocked shots per game.

Lieser earned All Conference honors, and Jansen was awarded honorable mention honors.

Girls' basketball stats The Dogs ended their season with an overall record of 10 wins and 13 losses, including a conference record of four wins and eight losses.

At the beginning of the season the team came up with two main goals for the season. The first was to have a winning record, but the team fell a couple wins short of having a winning record.

The second goal was to make it past the first round of playoffs. The girls did do that with a win over the Annandale Cardinals in the opening round of the district playoffs.

The players would like to thank the coaches for all their time and effort during the season and a big thanks goes out to all the fans that came to support the girls throughout the season.
