Fifth grader wins state free throw contest |
Emily Roelike of Lake Henry won the 10-year-old girls' division in the Knights of Columbus' state free throw competition over the weekend in St. Cloud. Roelike made 18 of 25 free throws to win the contest. Earlier, she made 21 of 25 shots in the regional competition. Emily is a fifth grader in the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa School District. In addition to playing at school, she hones her basketball skills by practicing outside at home, including in the winter when she wears winter clothing and gloves. Emily is the daughter of Joel and Joyce Roelike of Lake Henry. She is the granddaughter of George and Jeanette Fuchs of Paynesville.
