Huskies top Dogs to secure WCCN title | ||||||||||||
![]() Junior Kendra Johnson scored two points as the Bulldogs lost to Albany last week. Albany beat the Bulldogs 86-54 in January in Paynesville and won in Albany 68-41 on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The Huskies led 31-20 at the half and 47-34 after three quarters. They broke open the game by outscoring the Dogs 21-7 in the fourth quarter. The state-rated Huskies are 19-4 this season. They qualified for the Class AA state tourney last year. The Bulldogs, who ended their conference season with a record of 7-3, are now 14-6 overall. This week, the Bulldogs will play their final regular-season game. The Dogs will host state-rated ACGC on Thursday in Paynesville. Next week, the Bulldogs will start the subsection playoffs. The Dogs are seeded third, behind #1 NL-S and #2 EV-W. In the first round, the Dogs will host #6 Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted on Thursday, March 4, at 7 p.m.
