BBE, Albany top Dogs in hoops | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Bulldogs boys' basketball team dropped two more games last week, extending their losing streak to four games. The Bulldogs lost two road games: to Albany 54-33 on Thursday in a conference game and 75-41 to BBE on Monday, Jan. 13, in a nonconference game. Against Albany, the Dogs played well in the first quarter, trailing by one after eight minutes, 12-11, but the Huskies outscored the Dogs 42-22 the rest of the game and won easily. Senior guard Josh Teicher had 11 points to lead the Bulldogs in scoring. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-2 in the West Central Conference North. The victory raised the Huskies' conference record to 3-0. Against BBE, the Bulldogs could not stop the Jaguars' offense. BBE scored 19 points in the first quarter and 24 in the second, taking a 43-24 lead at the half. Then, in the third quarter, the Bulldogs scored only four points while allowing 18 more. The Bulldogs made four three-pointers against BBE, but the Jaguars made eight. Junior wing Adam Kampsen scored 12 points to lead the Dogs, and Teicher added 10 points. The Bulldogs are now 4-6 overall. This week, the Dogs played at Maple Lake on Tuesday. They host LPGE on Friday, with the B- and C-squads starting at 6:15 p.m. The Dogs will also host New London-Spicer on Monday, Jan. 27, also starting at 6:15 p.m.
