Paynesville started the night out on the vault. Krysta Larson scored an 8.1 earning her fifth place. Jenni Mayer also scored an 8.1 earning her fourth place. Joy Hemmesch vaulted an 8.15 putting her in third place. Placing second with an 8.15 was Kelli Fenske. The tied scores and different places were due to the superior judge's score. Whomever she scored higher got the higher place. The Bulldogs' total score on vault that evening was a 32.5.
The next event for Paynesville was the uneven bars. The girls all had nice routines but only two placed. Joy Hemmesch got a 7.6 earning her third place. Swinging into second place was Krysta Larson with a 7.6. The team's total uneven bars score was 26.95.
The Bulldog gymnasts then moved to the beam competition. Amy Mueller (pictured at right) started them off on beam with a beautiful routine that earned her a 6.9, but she did not place. Joy Hemmesch had a 7.2 earning her fifth place. Krysta Larson placed fourth with a 7.75. The girl's total score was a 28.85.
The last event of the night was the floor exercise. Only two Paynesville gymnasts placed in the competition. Joy Hemmesch had a nice routine which earned her a 7.75 and fourth place. Krysta Larson also had a great routine that placed her in third with a 7.75. The Bulldogs' floor total was 29.85.
In the all-around competition, Joy Hemmesch received a 30.7 putting her in fourth place. Krysta Larson tied with a Benson gymnast for second place with a 31.2.
