'Souper' Bowl of Caring proceeds
presented to foodshelf...
Area churches raised $8,750 - plus $1,600 in a grant
for $10,350 total - for the Paynesville Area Community
Service Center during the 'Souper' Bowl of Caring in February.
Of that given locally, $4,204 was submitted to Thrivent
Financial Services for Lutherans, which donated another $1,600
in matching funds. Last week, the Paynesville Ministerial
Association, which sponsored the fund drive, received a $5,804
check from Thrivent toward a new facility for the Paynesville Area
Community Service Center, a project spearheaded by the Paynesville Lions Club.
