Students are selected by teachers on the basis of their classroom work and how well they get along with their classmates. Selected for December were (from left)  sixth grader Brittni Schmitz, eighth grader Laura Weidner, and seventh grader Amanda Schmitz.

Brittni is the daughter of Jim and Brenda Schmitz. Her teachers consider her a pleasant, friendly, and thoughtful student. She is hard working, responsible, and works well with her classmates.

Brittni was surprised but happy to receive the honor. "I tried my hardest by getting my homework done on time," she said.

Brittni competes in cross country, softball, and basketball. She is also a member of the sixth grade choir.

Amanda is the daughter of Kerry and Sandra Schmitz. Her teachers describe her as a hard working and responsible student who is considerate of others.

"I was excited to receive the honor," said Amanda who is a member of the seventh and eighth grade choir.

Laura is the daughter of Scott and JoAnn Weidner. Her teachers said she is a hard worker, determined, and participates in a variety of activities. She is a member of the band and plays volleyball and basketball.

"I'm thankful to the teachers that chose me," Laura said of the honor. "I work hard and do my best to participate in school."
