Susan Hennen, a 10-year employee of the company, which has offices in Paynesville and St. Joseph, became a partner in 2001, when Gerald Frieler retired from the business. She works primarily in the St. Joseph office.

According to Alan Habben, who works mainly in the Paynesville office, the only change customers should see is the name. Habben and Hennen will still offer accounting services and tax planning, just as they have for the last 15 years.

According to state law, the name of an accounting firm cannot reflect the name of a retired partner for more than two years, forcing the company to change the name, said Habben.

Although signs bearing the new name have already been posted on the door of their Paynesville office, the name change will take effect officially with the new year.
