Selected were Jeremy Schmidt (left), sixth grade; Chuck Mackedanz (right), seventh grade; and Jessica Leyendecker (front), eighth grade.

The students are selected by their teachers on basis of classroom participation, academic work, and how well they get along with their peers.

Jeremy Schmidt is the son of Lee and Shelly Schmidt. His teachers consider him a good student, hard working, responsible, and fun to work with.

Jeremy feels he won the honor because he is a good student. He also thinks it's pretty cool to win.

Jeremy enjoys playing sports such as golf, football, and baseball.

Chuck is the son of Rick and Sandy Mackedanz. His teachers said he asks thoughtful questions, has a positive classroom behavior, and treats his teachers with respect. He also puts forth good effort in class and is friendly to all.

Chuck was surprised to be selected. He didn't think it was coming, even though he is doing well in school.

Chuck is a member of the seventh grade football and basketball teams and plans to compete on the baseball team this spring.

Jessica Leyendecker is the daughter of Kathy Larsen and Paul Larsen. Her teachers said she is a hard working student who works to her potential. She is respectful of others and dedicated.

Jessica thinks being selected is cool. She gets all her work done on time.

Jessica is a member of the middle school speech team.
