As a parent, you are concerned about the quality of education your child is receiving. There are many ways you can help get the best education possible for your child. One important way is through successful parent-teacher conferences. When parents and teachers cooperate, the team approach allows them to share their own special knowledge of the child. Conferences are intended to help parents learn about their childâs progress and find out how they can be more involved in their childâs education.
School will be let out early on Thursday, Nov. 14. Buses will pick up the elementary children at 2 p.m. with conferences starting at 3 p.m. The middle and high school students will be dismissed at 2:10 p.m. with conferences running from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Middle school conferences are in the primetime rooms.
At the high school, parents are encouraged to pick up their childâs report cards from Lindsay Hull in the cafeteria before seeking out teachers. ãStudents are encouraged to take part in conferences. The district feels it is helpful to them. They do have the key role in learning,ä John Janotta, high school principal, said.
At the high school on Friday, Nov. 15, conferences will start at 7:45 a.m. until noon. In the afternoon, the high school staff will have an in-service. Note: Cheryl Bungum will be located in the high school gym on Thursday only. Steve Sullivan will not be available for conferences. If a particular teacher is not available while you are at school for conferences, leave your name at the office and they will call you.
