For the past 10 years, Currens has worked in the Todd County Social Services office in Long Prairie as a fiscal supervisor.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know the Paynesville community, making the switch from the public sector to the private sector," Currens said.
Currens said he will be eventually getting his securities license so he can also help clients with their investments.
A native of Wheaton, Currens is a graduate of Moorhead State University with a degree in finance. Currens has served in the National Guard 18 years. He and his wife, Sue, have two children, Anna, 4, and Matthew, 7. Sue is a teacher at the Paynesville Area Elementary School.
Currens lists as his interests, outdoor activities: golf, hunting, and fishing.
