Robert Dion Northway III, 31, Richmond, died from injuries received in a fight at Doochies Bad Company at 1:12 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 4. His brother was also injured in the fight.
Stearns County Sheriff's deputies were called to the fight. It was reported that one party had a gun. No gun was found by deputies, according to the St. Cloud Times.
People outside the bar detained Northway until law enforcement officers could arrive.
Northway was found unconscious, and CPR was administered by law enforcement officers and personnel of the St. Martin Fire/Rescue Department. The Melrose Ambulance transported Northway to the Albany Hospital where he died at 2:19 a.m.
The second man, Bryan David Northway, 25, St. Cloud, complained of neck and back pain and was taken by the Paynesville Ambulance to the Pay-nesville Hospital and transferred to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Blood alcohol tests are being performed on both men. Results will not be known for another 10 days, said Deputy Doug Pearce, Stearns County Sheriff's Department.
An autopsy was performed on the deceased man on Tuesday at the Ramsey County Medical Examiners Office.
The incident is under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Department and Stearns County Medical Examiner's Office.
An officer from the Minnesota State Patrol also responded to this incident.
