Four-year-old boy killed in ATV accident on Monday

A four-year-old boy from Marshall, Minn., was killed in an ATV accident near Lake Koronis on Monday, Sept. 1. The Paynesville Police Department has not released his name, wanting to contact all his relatives first.

The accident took place at a residence on Co. Rd. 20 just after noon on Labor Day. The boy was sitting on an ATV, which was being used to attempt to pull a boat lift out of the lake. The ATV rolled backwards down the hill.

The boy was brought by his relatives to the Paynesville Area Hospital and air lifted to St. Cloud by helicopter, where he died from his injuries.

The accident is under investigation by the Paynesville Police Department.
