Construction business moves to area

By Linda Stelling

Highline Construction A new company, Highline Construction, Inc., moved its base of operation to Paynesville last fall.

Owners Rick Fredin and Tom Lynch of rural New London met while working for another power line company and decided to go into business for themselves.

Highline Construction has been in existence for four years. The company erects 60-foot power poles for county and municipal power companies. Their work takes them all across the state.

Fredin said they have eight men on their crew. They work long hours, putting in about 50 hours per week replacing and erecting new power poles.

Among their equipment includes three digger derrick trucks, three bucket trucks, a flat bed crane trailer, and five trailers.

The crew is currently working in the Grove City area replacing broken power poles caused by storms last May.

Highline Construction bought the former Paynesville Septic building south of Paynesville on Highway 55.
