Cook is vice chairperson of the Sauk River Watershed District and also serves as chairperson of the policy and resolution committee at the Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts. She is also a board member of the Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce.

Cook was appointed to the Board of Water and Soil Resources as a watershed district representative and will serve a four-year term ending on Jan. 1, 2007.
