Paynesville City Council meeting, Wednesday, August 13 |
The Paynesville City Council took the following actions at their meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 13. The council approved adopting administrative offenses as an alternative to traditional ticket for minor violations of city ordinances. The council also approved a fee schedule for administrative offenses. The council tabled a $292,618 bid for a steel framed tee hangar at the Paynesville Municipal Airport, submitted by Southside Steel Systems. The city sought separate bids for the building, electrical work, and plumbing. While there were several bids for the building, there were none for the plumbing or electrical, said city administrator Steve Helget. The city will send letters to local plumbers and electricians encouraging them to bid on the project before the next regular city council meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 20, when the council could award the project. The council approved placing a fence around the stormwater retention pond on Lake Avenue. The fence should cost $500. The council also approved paying the Stearns County Highway Department $249,103 for the city's share of the street improvement project on Lake Avenue. The council also approved a payment of $325,141 to Duinick Brothers for work completed at the airport. The council approved hiring a firm to clean the city's storm sewer mains for $2,500. The council approved sidewalk repairs in the following areas: in front of Daniel Anderson Funeral Home, in front of Excel Energy, and in front of a residence at 337 Washburne Avenue. The estimate for repairs is $1,600. The council approved a street sweeping policy and a resolution setting a $125 per hour fee for sweeping private parking lots and streets.
