Minnegasco is installing new gas main and service lines in Paynesville Township this summer in a major project covering some five miles of construction.

The installation work is scheduled to start in mid-August and be completed in time for the 1998-99 heating season. The new main installations will commence at Hoffman and Washburne Ave. and go south to Highway 55 and then southeast until turning on County Road 124 to Lake Koronis Road. At that point, gas mains will be installed along Koronis Road, heading both east and west from County Road 124.

Initially, Minnegasco expects more than 100 homes and businesses will be served by the new gas main extensions in Paynesville Township. Additional connections will come later.

Minnegasco, whose headquarters is in Minneapolis, serves more than 650,000 natural gas customers in 240 communities in Minnesota. Minnegasco is a division of Houston Industries, Inc., Houston, Texas.
