Township to start sealcoating project |
The Paynesville Township Board of Supervisors took the following actions at their meeting on Monday, July 25. *The board was informed that the Heatherwood Addition has been added to the orderly annexation agreement between Paynesville Township and the city of Paynesville. These are properties that could be annexed, at the request of the residents. *The board was informed that the sealcoating project will start on Monday, Aug. 15. *Board chairman Don Pietsch informed the board that the Lake Koronis Recreational Trail route between the city and the city beach will stay on the west side of Co. Rd. 181 until it reaches Cherywood Road, then cross to the south side of Cherrywood Road. *The board discussed the proposed Koronis Heights plat with developer David Herzberg. Herzberg is platting lots west of Co. Rd. 181 and south of 171st Street. Herzberg currently has lots that are less than 30,000 square feet. The township is requiring Herzberg to bring the lot size up to 30,000 square feet, the minimum that Stearns County allows on a previously platted parcel. The township will participate 50 percent on the grading and asphalt on the construction on 171st Street and 50 percent on the asphalt on Dean Avenue, contingent on the lot sizes growing to 30,000 square feet. *The board voted to purchase up to $500 in shrubbery to be used as a hedge along the east-west border of the civic arena property with the neighbors to the south. This hedge will act as a barrier for sound and headlights from the increased activity that the arena is experiencing. The township will also clean up the remainder of the underbrush on the land adjacent to the proposed hedge location. *Following a public hearing, the board approved the vacation of a cartway on the northern portion of properties on Breezewood Road and owned by Ralph and Kristin Daby and Ervin and Gloria Schauer. The vacation of the cartway will not affect other property owners' use of their property. *Following a public hearing, the board approved vacating approximately 300 feet of Brittney Oaks Circle in the Lordon Pond development. This bordered the property of Ed and Sheila Steinemann and reverted to them. *The board set a public hearing for Monday, Aug. 22, at 8:30 p.m. for an easement request from Paul Bugbee for a fence within the road right-of-way. *The board set a public hearing for Monday, Aug. 22, at 8:45 p.m. for an easement request from Gary Condon for a drainfield within the road right-of-way. *The board set a public hearing for Monday, Aug. 22, at 9 p.m. for the purpose of considering the adoption of a Comprehensive Growth Plan for Paynesville Township. Stearns County is asking Paynesville Township to adopt a plan for its future growth, which is among the fastest growing townships in the county. Currently, six townships have Comprehensive Growth Plans out of 35 townships in the county.
