Paynesville Area Hospital District |
The Paynesville Area Hospital District took these actions at their meeting on Wednesday, July 23. The board was informed by CEO Steve Moburg that Kirk Johnson has been hired to be the chief financial officer for PAHCS. Johnson has worked for the past six years as the CFO for Osceola Medical Center in Osceola, Wis. He will start at PAHCS on Thursday, Aug. 21. The board learned that PAHCS has secured a $250,000 loan to complete its recent construction project. PAHCS got the loan at six percent interest for five years from Community First National Bank in Paynesville. Moburg told the board that the financial impact to PAHCS of the recent reimbursement changes by the Minnesota Legislature should amount to approximately $30,000 for the coming year. At one time, based on the budget proposals, PAHCS estimated that the financial effects to it could reach $500,000 for the coming year, but proposed cuts to nursing homes were not implemented. PAHCS will see a one percent reduction in rates for assisted living. The board approved turning an outstanding account in the amount of $5,588 over to collection. The board approved appointing Dr. Bonnie Fines (radiology) and Dr. Danielle Leighton (radiology) to the medical staff.
